Mybikeorhike is owned and managed by an independent guide. Should additional guides be required for greated numbers of guests, or multiple tours run simultaneously, additional qualified guides can be provided

Mybike has a partnership agreement with GreenAer, electric bike specialists based neasr the centre of Dublin city. For all tours, e-bikes are provided and included in the booking fee

In addition to the e-bike, safety helmet, high visibility vest, lights and basic mechanical repair equipment are also provided.

Is it safe to cycle on busy streets?2020-06-15T13:40:43+01:00

As the tours generally cover a certain amount of urban areas, they are not hazard free. However, all routes are carefully designed to minimise if not eliminate hazards, such as maximiasing the use of available, priority or dedicated cycle lanes, choosing quiet streets over busy ones, and sometimes using cycle paths that are seperate to and away from any streets. Where there are obvious hazards, such as at busy junctions, guests’ safety will always take priotity and will dismount from the bikes from time to time if necessary. The guide holds a ride leader certificate issued by Cycling Ireland, for aditional safey and assurnace of the guests.

All guided hike tours follow designated and waymarked paths and trails. The guided is trained in mountain skills through Mountaineering Ireland, and is vastly experienced in organising and leading guided hikes, commercially and non commercially. The guide also holds a REC3 certificated (Rescue Emergency Care Level 3)

The duration of each tour is provided in the tour details, but are typically between 5 and 8 hours. There is some flexibility in the published duration, depending on the duration and frequency of stops, and the average pace of the travelling group.

For private tours, yes, tours can be shortened or lengthened at the request of the guests, for reasons such as inclement weather, energy levels, unforeseen time constraints, etc. For public tours, the set duration can only be changed with the consent of all of the participating guests

Generally, cancellations with full refund are allowed wit 72 hours notice prior to the commencement of the tour, but guests will need to confrm the exact details on the booking form for each tour

Guests are welcome to bring their own bikes if they wish, for a reduced fee agreed in advance of a booking. In such cases, guests are responsible for the good working order of their bike.

Tours will proceed regardless of the weather conditions provided it is safe to do so. Where weather conditions deem it unsafe to proceed, a rescheule date will be offered where possible. Where this is not possible, or is not suitable to the guest(s), a full refund will be given

Guests should wear and bring clothing and footwear that are comfortable, appropriate for the activity, and suitable for the weather conditions. At all times, this should included raingear. In cold weather, this includes gloves, hat and sufficient layers of clothing.

All tours include visits to or pass by several attractions. Guests will have the opportunity to request to visit specific acctraction in advance of the tour, which can be facilitated provided it is possible to complete the tour within the desigated timeframe.

For minor equipment failures or mishaps, every effort will be made to address the issue using the repair equipment availble, such as punctures, for example. Major incidents will be managed on a case by case basis, using emergency services if required

Mybikeorhike does not offer self guided tours, but is happy to recommend equipment suppliers and suggested itineraries free of charge.
